Hurricane Sunday and baking that will BLOWWWWW you away :)

So I made cookies today! Nothin fancy, just different!! :]
It started with the fact I did NOTHING today!!! I'm gazing into my fridge that beholds the same vegetables I buy EVERY time I go to the grocery and I wonder what delicious madness I can make out of it today! Well its rainy, and chilly and Chicken and rice soup sounds legit.
I take all the veggies and chicken out of my fridge, turn on the oven to bake the chicken, and "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!" Who the goodnickens it banging a hole in my door?!?!
It was just Deloris checkin on me, to make sure I survived the hurricane :) She invited me for lunch! Turkey sandwiches. Yum. [soup did not get made]
After we chatted for some time,  I tied her hands with rope, and chains around her feet and dragged her upstairs and made her help me with cookies. Okay, okay, it wasn't that extreme.... I just told her "cookies" and she ironically following quite willingly! SHOCKING!
So we began to bake! I.e. I turned on the oven to preheat while I showed her the cute clothes I bought the other day! haha
Well at Gerritys, they had Reduced Sugar Cookies on sale! $0.79 a box! OMG! I bought 3!
But I had a different idea! I don't really like to eat candy, and I've had it in my cupboard since forever, and when I say forever, I mean since I moved to Pennsylvania :]
So what do you do with candy you don't eat? You put it in cookies and call it creation!
Here are my secret (now not so secret) ingredients...  Sweedish Fish & Skittles!

Yup! Thats righttttttt!!! So we make the mix.
Cut up Sweedish Fish.
Put stuff on Cookie sheet.
Baked.

and Wah-la! cookies.
Your turn! What you going to make???

To my readers... I do have some readers out there right?

I apologize for lack of exciting content lately... I haven't exactly been funny, or witty, or over story-telly lately, but there are reasons.

Some reasons I may tell, others I'll keep to myself, and at the end of the day, I've just been that darn busy! EEK!

BUT I promise I will post something good soon. Actually in the words right now... but it'll be a good one. Not necessarily exciting, funny or witty, but it'll be good.

I guess it'll just be real.
We'll talk soon....

I Need Words
I need words...As wide as sky
I need a language as large as...This longing inside
And I need a voice...Bigger than mine
And I need a song to sing you...That I've yet to find
I need you...Oh, I need you
I need you...Oh, I need you
To be here now...To be here now
To hear me now...To hear me now

Turn Right on the First Real Road

Yesterday I was blessed with spending the day with my Midwestern-PA family!

It's weird, how sometimes it never gets easier being away from home. You think it will, but it doesn't. I feel terrible for feeling excited to leave everything I once knew as comfortable and familiar, when now there are times where all I want to do is just go home.

And when I'm feeling the most weary and exhausted and so desperate to just be around family, He makes known to me the people I do have who can give me just that. A mother's hug, a home cooked meal, and games around the table that make you want to punch your little and big brother in the face, as dad just sits back and laughs at the hysteria of the situation.

That is was yesterday was to me, it was home.

I love you Tracey, Mike, Anthony, and yes... you too Dave! haha :)

Here are only a couple highlights from yesterday...

Soaking the Corn!
Do you want some CHEEEEEEEEESE?!?!?!?!

Wally World

To own a blog, I feel it is necessary at some point or another to write about Walmart.
So as always, when I arrived I was minorly distraught I had to spend the next 45 minutes of my life in the muggy, chaotic environment of insanity and irrational spending. Then finishing in the most wretched 25-30 minutes of waiting behind people who purchase items I didn't know existed, but confirmed the growing activity of laziness in our culture. And yes, in our culture, laziness is an activity. There are people who can are bad at being lazy!

In Walmart I went in without a list and busted out the rolodex of ingredients i needed for survival.
Then I went to dreaded line.

As I stood there these are the thoughts that went through my mind.

!) Do they really need all that crap?!
@) Good thing I avoided the "back to school" section or I woulda bought all that crap!
#) I can't believe that guy totally ran  a swivel race around the magazine stands just to cut/beat me in line
$) I'm glad I can use this time to catch up on my text messages
%) I hate texting even when I'm standing in line at Walmart!
^) The guy who cut me is now checking out
&) I shouldn't have switched lines out of spite
*) Ooo! Ooo! Almost my turn! They only have 30 more items to ring up!
() How did they fit all that in ONE cart?!
!)) If I didn't need fruit or tampons I would be laying by a pool right now!
!!) I remember when I bought soda for 35 cents a can at Walmart, not 75 cents....
!@) i hate walmart.
